Blind Melon -- S/T

  Total f*ckin' bullsh*t hippie wanna-be jock Rock band, album and entire career.  Sorry but I have a complete distaste for this mindless tripe.  And somehow I never liked dudes with nose rings and a beards ... just seems wrong ... pick one ... nerdo!  If "there's no rain," then I wish it would!

Canned Heat -- Going Up The Counrty/ One Kind Favor 45'

  Yeah man!  What a perfect pre-fishing trip tune to write about.  Every time I hear this song I can't help but think of the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers during their epic psychedelic cross-country road trip.  The number is simple, with a perfect riff and easy to listen too.  The B-side on the other hand is a kinda unoriginal hard Rock 60's Blues out, a total juxtaposition to the A-side ... pack your bags and get your ass up the country!! 

L7 -- S/T

  Man!  I totally had a crush on all these girls ... wait ... had ... more like have, since I was a teenager.  This is their first album, which I proudly own on cassette.  It sounds like the same old L7 but a little sludgier and more Hardcore, but virtually the same as the rest ...

The Shangri-Las -- I Can Never Go Home Anymore/ Bull Dog 45'

  Tough as nails girl group The Shangri-Las.  I Can Never Go Home Anymore reminds me of when I was 18 years old, moved out, and caused some serious trouble, just to discover ... once you're out you're out!  The song has a Phil Spector feel, big loud arrangements and lots of dramatically momentous vocals.  The B-side, Bull Dog is a harp driven Garage Rock number, about a "big bad bull dog," meaning asshole.  These girls might mostly sing ballads about love and heart break, but you'd be nuts to go toe to toe with The Shangri-Las!

Husker Du -- Everything Falls Apart

    Everything Falls Apart is part total Hardcore explosion and part Alternative Pop Punk.  Maybe not their best album, but there are some killer moments, you can definitely see where the band is going with their sound ... 

The Trashmen -- Surfin' Bird/ King Of The Surf 45'

  Classic Rivingtons covers by The Trashmen, that's right I said covers, Surfin' Bird is a mix of Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow and The Bird Is The Word.  What makes Surfin' Bird so great, which I probably do not have to point out, is the Wolfman Jack style vocals.  The B-side sounds nothing like the A-side.  King of The Surf sounds like a version of bad early Beach Boys, which is kinda a disappointment since the A-side is so good and influential.  I even bought the Surfin' Bird Lp in hopes of another Wolfman tune, but no dice, the record just wasn't any good!  But whatever they may have had one hit, but that one hit had a huge impact, imagine The Cramps without The Trashmen ... exactly!

G.G. Allin -- Hated In The Nation

  I used to have this CD ages ago, until some junkie c*cksmokers stole all my sh*t, when I was living in Montreal.  This album is a compilation of early material by the legendary G.G. Allin, who lived his life like an anarchistic performance artist.  It's hard to judge if he was a total idiot or just some weirdo genius who didn't give a sh*t ... does it really matter?  The comp features the best super offensive tunes you've ever heard, Allin was the king at pissing people off, rumor has it he never finished a full live set, the crowd would erupt in a full scale riot before the end of the show!  The classic You Hate Me & I Hate You will always be, in my mind, his best effort, pre-dating a Punk sound that came 8 years later.  So to those lame wads who stole my stuff, Bite It You Scum!

Fun Fact: J Mascis played lead in one of Allin's million bands!
