The Psychedelic Furs
The Psychedelic Furs, a name synonymous with John Hughes movies, and a band I can't say I'm too crazy about. Although I found this debut album to be much less annoying than their later releases. This record's got a kinda 60's jangle Punky New Wave thing going for it, featuring a of couple numbers produced by Joy Division's sound man extraordinaire Martin Hannett, which files this album under OK, pretty good!

Bo Diddley Is A Gunslinger
My personal favorite guitar player, Bo Diddley. Bo re-invented cool with his crazy jungle beat. Although Gunslinger isn't his best release and doesn't have any mega well known Diddley numbers, but nonetheless it's great Rock 'n' Roll music from one of the true masters!!!!

Jesus and Mary Chain -- Psychocandy
This album is one of the greatest records of all-time, it changed the direction of Pop music, everything was headed in a squeaky clean New Wave wasteland ... then BOOM! ... Psychocandy, the Noise Pop masterpiece explosion! These guys took everything that was cool about Rock 'n' Roll music, jumbled it all together and made something totally unique and brilliant ... a one of a kind game changer sound ... so much good music wouldn't have happened if there wasn't the Jesus And Mary Chain and Psychocandy to influence a whole new era!

Sam & Dave -- Hold on, I'm Comin'
The dynamically dynamite Memphis Souled-out Duo, Sam & Dave's debut LP, Hold On, I'm Comin'! What a great testament to the Memphis sound, which is a Bluesier version of Soul music. Point is Hold On, I'm Comin' is a wham bam thank you mam (get it?) Soul explosion. Although I do think they could have done a little more work on their cover, yeah yeah, I get it you're gonna havta hold on for a while because they are riding a turtle, which is slow (and doesn't theirs looks stoned), so it's going to take a while before they are-a comin', but seriously, two guys riding a turtle??? Oh well, what ever works, I don't have any MEGA hit songs under my belt, so who am I to judge!

Carol King -- Tapestry
Carol King was already one of the greatest song writers of all-time, ten years before achieving her most prestigious accolade -- Tapestry! Encouraged by her friend James Taylor, Carol started to record her own material, but it wasn't until her sophomore release that she reached the stratosphere of popularity and respect as a solo recording artist. Side one has her typical Folksy sound, but with a Soul Pop vibe. While the flipside has more of an intimately personal sound, like Joni's Blue, the best parts about it are the renditions of her old numbers, made famous by Aretha Franklin and the Shirelles, it's not that they're better, they're just interestingly different ...

Blondie
The debut Blondie release is a 60's infused Punk Rock/ New Wave classic reminiscent of the Girl groups, but lacks in the "wall of sound".
