Bob Marley And The Wailers -- Legend
Yeah Yeah Yeah, he's a brilliant man and had one hell of a career! But every white boy jock, hipster- wannabe who smokes tha ganj seems to flock to this album proclaiming their undying love for Reggae, even though this is the only Reggae album they own and it's probably on CD. Not that I think that these songs are bad, but they're hardly the ones that I'd consider his best. These tracks are the easiest for an American market to swallow, like a sorta friendly, kind hearted Marley, who didn't have utter contempt for the white man and Babylon, those themes are represented on his actual best numbers ... anyway these are his biggest Babylonian hits ... but they hardly represent the Legend that is Bob Marley!

Lene Lovich -- Stateless
I knew I used to like this album, but I was ready to potentially hate it since my last listen, which was ages ago, to my surprise I still love this record. Lene seems to have a kinda German shticked style to her music, making a sorta Electro Punk Wave. My personal favorite is the opening track Home, but that's not saying the rest is bad, I just find she hit the mark the best with that number ... and doesn't she look just like Jennifer Connely, the chick from Labyrinth???
Update: I've been clearing out my record collection and decided that there would never be an occasion that would deem this album appropriate, I honestly hated it this time around!!

The Jam -- This Is The Modern World
Sophomore release by The Jam, This Is The Modern World. The best way to describe The Jam's sound, I think, is 60's Mod mixed with hard edged Glam ... which is basically 77 British Punk Rock, but where their contemporaries wanted to destroy Rock 'n' Roll, The Jam wanted to embrace it!

Galaxie 500 -- This Is Our Music
Named after the bitchin' 60's Ford car the Galaxie 500. These guys have a lush, cool 60's drone mixed with futurist lulls of Joy Division and Surfy Psychedelia. What a timeless sound they had discovered, this music could have been release between now and their initial inception, and it would never seem dated. Unfortunately this was to be their last effort ...

The Brian Jonestown Massacre -- Take It From The Man!
Yes Yes 60's infused Galaxie 500/ Spacemen 3 mixed with jammy 1970's Americana arrogance. These guys remind me of the interviews with The Band in the Last Waltz, totally useless human beings, but brilliant musicians, all their excesses damage while it inspires. The inlay explains their mission statement about pure Rock 'n' Roll music, no millions of takes, no guff, just the beauty of music the way it intended itself to come out!

Cosmic Psychos -- 15 Years, a Million Beers
Sonic explosion, Psychedelic Punk outfit the Cosmic Psychos! These hard-ass Aussies blend the Punk side of Mortorhead with a Yardbirds Rave up. This double LP, 15 Years, a Million Beers, works like a Best of, Rarities, B-sides all wrapped up in one package. Their Sludgy sound eventually found its way into America influencing the whole 90's Seattle scene, although these guys aren't delicate babies out to make some art ... no ...no ... they are tough musicians out to make some noise and show the babies how it's really done!

Andy Warhol's Velvet Underground Featuring Nico
The original heroin chic band. This is a double album collection featuring all the best songs from their first three albums. Warhol and the Velvets changed the meaning of Pop culture forever and there are no take backs.
