Paul Simon -- Still Crazy After All These Years

  Holy crapola talk about your boring ass, I would say, grandpa music, but even the oldest of people would find this record lame, what a snorefest! 

Captain Beefheart And His Magic Band -- Trout Mask Replica

  Holy crap this is by far the weirdest album of all-f*ckin'-time!  Beefheart pulled off this monstrosity by finding a slew of amateur musicians, teaching them to play his mad orchestrated version of Rock 'n' Roll.  He controlled his players using degradation ceremonies, starvation, isolation and brainwash techniques, to the point that one guy escaped, hide stuff in nearby bushes, ran off, made it away from his captive Captain, then the guilt and confusion drew him back to the Beefheart cult.

  I have to admit that I've only been able to sit through this entirely twice.  I seriously don't get why this record is so revered, and I seriously don't want to!!  I swear people like this music because no one in their right mind possibly could enjoy it, like you are part of a secret club, you grasp something people could never understand ... anyway if you ever see me one day, and I am screaming up and down the street wearing a trout mask, saying "this is the greatest album of all-time," please take me behind the chemical sheds and shoot me! 

The National -- High Violet

  These guys seem to have culled-up everything that Joy Division had influenced, but unlike Interpol which is more of a rip-off band, The National add Indie Pop hooks making their sound less sad bastard than their predecessors.

Bill Callahan -- Dream River

  You know this laid-back Indie Folk is good and all, but I can't say I am too crazy about his voice, it reminds me of the lead vocalist of The Magnetic Fields, but it just didn't work as well, it gave the music an uneven sound.

Alex Ebert -- Alexander

  A kinda weird tribute to the Folk Rock pioneers of the 60's and 70's, the songs range from really great to very bad to f*cking annoying!  Stick to, and save your hits for, your other bands buddy!

Blake Mills -- Break Mirrors

  Totally geeky delicate genius guitar virtuoso Blake Mills's debut effort.  His sound is a kind of Indie Folk drenched in lazy 70's Soft Rock, but with an awkward truth to his music.

The Budos Band -- III

  There I was, at a local downtown watering hole, gulping down copious amounts of beer and whiskey.  The owner pulls out this Ethio-esque Afro beat'd Jazzy Soul album by The Budos Band.  Needless to say my evening wasn't as successful as this killer record.  I made it home ok but totally puked in my sink, which left a barftastic odor in my apartment, luckily I cleaned 'er all up and have kept a great memory of this album!
